Hateful right wing activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot September 10th, leaves behind him a wife Erika Lane Frantzve (36), a daughter Sarah Rose (aged 3) & a son (aged 1)....
I can only hope & pray that his wife doesn't steer his children down the same hate-fuelled route & ideologies that their father followed, in some misguided search for "justice" or vengeance....
May this be an opportunity for them to grow in grace, love, tolerance & acceptance, so that they mature into compassionate, empathetic individuals who are forces for love & light, rather than the cruelty, bigotry & hatred that their father stood for....
Meanwhile, those hypocritical types who are suddenly flooding social media with calls for "decency", "empathy" (oh, the irony !!!) & demands that we all "rise above", would do well to remember that you don’t get to demand empathy after spending years laughing at the deaths of others!!!
Many of those same people now asking for compassion, openly laughed when George Floyd was murdered, even in the middle of a global movement calling for justice - they mocked, joked & shared memes about his death.
When Brianna G**y, a 16-year-old trans girl, was murdered in a park, what did those same people do? They misgendered her, trolled her memory & treated her death as another chance to get their kicks online.
& When refugees drown crossing the English Channel, the comment sections under news reports light up with laughing emojis, even when it’s women & children; people who died fleeing war & poverty, treated like it’s some big joke.
Now those same people are outraged that anyone might find irony or dark humour in the death of a man who once said empathy was a "made-up, new age term" & who argued that some gun deaths were "worth it" to preserve his version of freedom.
