** Make sure you are REGISTERING YOUR LIVE PERFORMANCES or else you WILL NOT receive your publishing royalties **
If your song is not registered Go to Step 1....
✅ Step 1: Register Your Original Songs First Log into your BMI Online Services account. Go to your dashboard and select Register New Works. Input your song title, duration, and writer/publisher share splits accurately. Ensure every co-writer and their IPI/CAE number is listed before proceeding
If your song is Already Registered---> Skip to Step 2....
🗓 Step 2: Access the BMI Live Portal. Navigate to the applications menu in your BMI dashboard and click on BMI Live. Click Add Performance to start a new submission. Select your event type, such as a concert or live gig.
📌 Step 3: Enter Venue and Show Details. Search for the performance venue by city and state. Create a new venue entry if the specific bar or club is missing from the database. Input the exact performance date, start time, end time, and total attendance. Indicate whether the show was ticketed or free admission.
🗒 Step 4: Submit Your Setlist. Select your performed songs directly from your registered BMI catalog. Save frequently played tracks using the Save to My Set List feature to save time on future entries. Search by publisher or song name/performer. Verify all performance details on the summary page, check the confirmation box, and click Complete to submit. This is how you will get paid quarterly.

✅ Register Your Original Songs. Log into your ASCAP Member Access account. Go to the Works module and click Register a Work. Input the song title, duration, and writer/publisher split percentages (totaling 50% writer and 50% publisher).Submit the catalog entry before filing live claims.
✅ Submit Your Live Performance via OnStageNavigate to the OnStage section under the Works or dashboard menu.Click Add Performances to enter the venue name, city, state, performance date, and runtime.Input ticket details, such as whether tickets were sold or if there were advance sales.Add your corresponding Set List detailing each registered original (and cover) song played during the gig.
