Please help change the rethoric

We at Empowering Young Professional of Long Island will begin to change the rethoric of poverty on Long Island.
Many not for profit entities that focused on serving the poor are only serving themselves with big salaries while services continue to lack
Many lawfirms, community based fronts and not for profits, argue for more funding or donations every year for their "help the needy" events, yet nobody holds their work accountable.
Every Xmas, Thanksgiving, Back-to-School season
These entities received many donations only to serve as a furtherance of the stereotype that minorites in general are poor, these entities go as far as inviting News media outlets to show the face of poverty and need on Long Island.
Some of these entities spend money donated for "good will" on furtherance of their brand...
That is called "Poverty Pimping"
Showing specific segments of the population as needy and poor only helps further the belief that Minorities are worth "less", despite the fact that Minorites are the backbone of all major service industries on Long Island, yet partly because we as minorites are painted as needy, we get offered lower salaries across most work disciplines, since "we are needy people" we can settle for less.
That's factual across even goverment jobs and salaries for Minorities and women where every study done, shows that we (minorites) get the lower salary positions and have the lowest rates of "job climb" despite these positions being "civil service" based positions.
Even our police department in both counties are under federal consent decree based on their hiring practices for minorites
We will hold those who put our people on display to shame and you can help too.. we will call those media outlets and create controversy
If you attend a toy giveaway, turkey giveaway or bookbag giveaway, please demand that your photo or likeness not be used to feed the stereotypes
