Okay… I need to know if I’m crazy for this.
My neighbor had a fence put in yesterday. Looked fine at first… until I actually checked it.
This morning I measured it, and it’s about 7 inches over onto my property.
So I go talk to him, thinking it’s an easy fix…
and he hits me with, “7 inches is basically nothing.”
Nothing??
So now we’re just casually taking pieces of other people’s property and calling it “not a big deal”??
I don’t care if it’s 7 inches or 7 feet… it’s still not his.
And what happens next time?? Another few inches??
I’m trying not to overreact, but this feels like the kind of situation you either shut down early… or regret later.
Be honest—would you let this go, or stand your ground??

I really didn’t want to say anything, but here we are… all afternoon the guy across the street has been out doing yard work completely shirtless like he’s at the beach, not in the middle of a neighborhood where families are out walking and kids are riding bikes, and I tried to ignore it at first because it’s not my business, but after hours of it it just starts to feel unnecessary and out of place, especially when this isn’t some private backyard tucked away, it’s right out in the open where everyone has to see it, and at that point it stops feeling casual and starts feeling uncomfortable, and yeah maybe some people won’t care, but not everyone wants to deal with that while just going about their day, so I ended up making a formal complaint just so there’s a record, because if it keeps happening it’s only going to make things more awkward for everyone around here.

Hot take but signs like this completely kill the vibe before you even sit down… I walk into a restaurant expecting a normal experience and instead I’m greeted with a wall of text basically reminding me that “your food didn’t walk here by itself” and listing out every little thing staff might do like refills and sauces as if I need to be pre-convinced to tip, and I’m sitting there thinking I already know how tipping works, I’m not against it at all, I actually tip well when the service matches it, but when you throw “TIP ACCORDINGLY” in my face before anything has even happened it stops feeling like appreciation and starts feeling like pressure, and that shift matters because instead of setting a welcoming tone it puts everything on edge right from the start, and with how expensive eating out already is, adding that kind of energy at the door just makes the whole experience feel off.

I don’t know if I’m overthinking this or just in denial but I’ve got a screw in one of my run-flat tires that are basically brand new—only two months old with less than 500km—and the shop is telling me it can’t be repaired because it’s too close to the sidewall, but looking at it I can’t tell if it’s really that serious or if I’m just being told the worst-case scenario right away, so I figured I’d ask here before making a decision—is this actually toast or is there a chance it can still be repaired?

I just had the most ridiculous Starbucks delivery experience and I genuinely need to know if people think this is acceptable now.
Spent almost $30 on drinks.
Selected “hand it to me.”
Driver arrives and doesn’t even leave the car.
So I walk outside and she immediately goes:
“Yeah… they spilled.”
I thought maybe one drink tipped over a little.
Nope.
I open the bag and it looks like someone blended the entire order together inside the paper bag. Coffee everywhere. Cups crushed. Lids floating around. The bottom of the bag basically dissolving in my hands.
Completely ruined.
And instead of apologizing or trying to help, she just stands there waiting for me to take it.
Then she refuses to cancel the order herself, which means the app marks it as fully delivered.
So now I have no drinks AND I get to spend the next hour fighting with customer support.
Transferred from agent to agent.
Repeating the story over and over.
Sending photos.
Explaining that no, liquid coffee sludge does not count as a completed delivery.
Eventually they refund the order…
except for the $10 tip.
That’s the part that blew my mind.
Because apparently delivering absolutely destroyed drinks still qualifies for a full tip now?
Be honest:
If someone handed you a leaking paper bag full of ruined Starbucks drinks, would you be trying to get that tip refunded too?

To everyone treating tipping like it’s some untouchable law… let’s get real.
I ran up a $732.73 dinner tab and suddenly I’m ‘expected’ to hand over $183–$256 because the suggested percentages say so? Same plates carried, same drinks refilled, same table time… yet now the numbers dictate the server’s paycheck.
I left $25. Twenty-five dollars. Real money for actual service. And suddenly, the energy at the table flips like I broke some invisible law. Manager strolls by citing ‘industry standards,’ as if that automatically overrides logic.
Since when does a pricier meal require more physical effort? My $732 dinner didn’t lift heavier trays, it didn’t refill drinks faster, it didn’t double the work.
I tip for real service, always. But I’m not signing up for a sliding-scale fee dictated purely by math. Seriously… is this fair, or are we just too used to it to question it?
$732.73 check → $25 tip → total $757.73. That’s the math. That’s the reality. That’s the frustration

Never, not in my life.
Today, I regular gas is at $3.99 a gallon, and that means we are one penny away from crossing a line I have never seen before...
This is regular gas. This is what people are putting in their vehicles to get to work, take kids to school, get groceries, drive to appointments, and live their everyday lives.
We are not even into the main summer travel season yet. When I think about gas prices being at their highest point of the year, I usually think about Memorial Day through Labor Day.
We are not even there yet, and regular gas is already the highest I have ever seen in my life.
Will it go up one more penny?
Will regular gas in Kansas finally cross into $4.00 a gallon? And if it does, how much higher will it go before summer is over?

He wouldn't compromise. He had to have Five Guys.
I'm having a bloomin onion instead from Outback Steak house.
He's very happy he gets to eat and I'm very happy I get a bloomin onion. It's been a while since I had one.
