Eighty years ago, atomic bombs devastated Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing hundreds of thousands and changing the world forever. Today, the world still lives under the nuclear shadow. Conflicts are raging in regions with nuclear weapons, and leaders are investing precious resources in building more. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Today, we join and cultural leaders across the globe to honor the victims and survivors, expose the dangers of nuclear weapons, and call on leaders to take action so that a nuclear weapon is never used again.

With nearly 50 artists from all over the world, we offer two new renditions of Bob Dylan’s anti-nuclear anthem “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.” The ‘Hard Rain’ EP is a partner to the historic Nobel Laureate Assembly Declaration for the Prevention of Nuclear War signed this month. collaborated with nearly 50 artists, Red Hot, the Nobel Laureate Assembly for the Prevention of Nuclear War and the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists to release two renditions of ‘s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.” The B-side by Terry Riley is an otherworldly Raga: “Komal Reshab Asavari,” with . The track was released in June for Riley’s 90th birthday.

The ‘Hard Rain’ EP was inspired by an invitation from Owen Gaffney of the Nobel Laureates Assembly to mark the Trinity Test - Hiroshima, and Nagasaki through sound. Kronos Quartet answered by performing inside Stockholm’s R1 KTH reactor hall — a site once used for nuclear experiments, now reactivated for an energy of resistance to nuclear threat.

With contributions from Ringo Starr, , .bhosle, ’ Stephin Merritt and many more, this project is an expansive model of what it means to stay connected to our humanity and one another.

On July 16, 2025—the 80th anniversary of the Trinity nuclear test— and performed at the University of Chicago to close the Nobel Laureate Assembly for the Prevention of Nuclear War.

That same day, Nobel Laureates and nuclear policy experts released a new declaration urging global leaders to take concrete steps to reduce the risk of nuclear war.

The performance coincided with the release of the ‘Hard Rain’ EP, a global musical collaboration featuring over 50 artists in two new renditions of ’s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall”.

deep in the heart of the Hard Rain EP - straight from Studio A, Senju Campus of Tokyo University of the Arts. This global collaboration brought nearly 50 artists together across continents and time zones to mark 80 years since the Trinity Test & to issue a global declaration for the prevention of nuclear war.

The Hard Rain EP features two powerful renditions of Bob Dylan’s 1963 warning anthem “A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall” and is in collaboration with the Nobel Laureate Assembly Declaration for the Prevention of Nuclear War.

“Tremendous progress has been made in reducing global nuclear stockpiles and nuclear risks, but we are now heading in the wrong direction. On the 80th anniversary of the Trinity Test, and nearly 50 artists from around the world released the ‘Hard Rain’ EP — featuring two powerful renditions of Bob Dylan’s 1963 anthem “A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall”. Created in solidarity and partnership with Nobel Laureates and nuclear weapons policy experts who just issued a global Declaration for the Prevention of Nuclear War.
