Hi everybody-
hope all of you are well...
Since it is that time of the year, let me start by giving thanks:
Thanks to all of the guests that have appeared on the show. You honor and humble me with your presence.
Thanks to all of you that watch, like, follow, subscribe, and comment. There would be no show without you. You inspire me every day.

This week's show is going to melt the internet! Look who we have:
Professor Evelyne Laurent-Perrault, who is of Haitian/Venezuelan descent, and a historian with a specialty in the African Diaspora, and feminism in Colonial Latin America and the Caribbean. She is also the founder of the Arturo Schomburg Symposium.

and

Trinidad and Tobago's Professor Camiile Selvon-Abrahams who is one of the only Black female animators in the world. She has won numerous awards in film and TV and created and runs her own animation institute and studio. She is also the founder of the Animae Caribe Animation Festival.

Both of the ladies have traveled extensively in Africa and other places in the world. They bring a deep passion, knowledge, and expertise of pan-africanism and understanding of the diaspora.

We are in for an amazing experience and experience. I urge you not to miss this show. Tell anyone and everyone you know to tune in at Saturday, December 5th 12.00pm EST for show unlike any other.

See you on Saturday

Hi everybody-
This weekend will be a continuation of our discussion with Environmental scientist and Pastor, Perry Chan.
Pastor Chan runs the Mukuvisi Woodlands nature preserve (http://www.mukuvisiwoodland.co.zw/) that is in the middle of the city of Harare. You see, one of the things I try to do on the show is share things that you may not be aware of. Mukuvisi Woodlands is one such place. And it is important for us as Zimbabweans, Africans, to support our local landscapes and nature preserves. These places are fast disappearing; they won't be there for ever if we don't take care of them. I am always enchanted by the beauty of our country. Its rivers, mountains, air, and sunshine. They are a part of us and make us who we are.

Before I go, thank you to every single one of you who has liked, commented, followed, and/or subscribed to the show. You help me make this show what it is. For those of you joining me for the first time, please consider liking and following the show. It all helps tremendously.

So join us this weekend on The Savaaffair Show at 10am EST, 5pm Zim. with Pastor Perry Chan and learn about one of Zimbabwe's best kept secrets: The Mukuvisi Woodlands.

Have a great day and see you on Saturday at 10am.

Deforestation and loss of habitat is rampant country-wide. Zimbabwe's amazing wildlife is more or less restricted to National Parks and other conservancies, and for some people, the Mukuvisi Woodlands provide the only opportunity they have to see our wild animals, and appreciate our country's natura...

11/07/2020

hi everybody-
it has been a busy week at The Savaaffair Show, and figures to only get busier as we begin the Christmas season. But more about that later.

Last week, Professor Laurent-Perrault took us on a fascinating journey of all the places in the diaspora she has visited from a personal point of view. She is back again this week to now talk about her research and expertise in feminism in the diaspora. It is going to be amazing! So please join us this Saturday November 7th, at 2pm EST.

Finally, and as always, the show continues to grow and reach different people all over the world. We owe each and every one of you a debt of gratitude for that.
Every phone call comment, subscription, follow and like means the world to me. You are what makes this show what it is. I am indebted.

For those of you have not yet done so, please consider subscribing, following, liking, and commenting on the show. Let me know what you're interested in and I will do my best to bring it you.

See you on Saturday at 2pm

Hi everybody-
I hope you were able to join us for last Saturday's show. If you weren't able to, you once again missed a fascinating discussion with our Pan-African, global entrepreneurs whose business interests span the world. In a word, it was awesome. To that end, owe Messrs Ayo Adams, Ogugwa Iwelu, and Stephen Opayemi my sincerest and deepest thanks for coming on the show..

At the The Savaaffair Show we know that there are borders between nations, but we are unconstrained by any limits in our quest to explore culture, tradition, art, and music through an African lens. So this week's special guest will be University of California Santa Barbara's Professor Evelyne Laurent-Perrault.

Professor Laurent-Perrault is a Venezuelan of Haitian descent. Her expertise lies in African Diaspora, Colonial Latin America and the Caribbean. She also lectures extensively on feminism with an emphasis women of African descent, particularly in Caracas, Venezuela.

So get ready to informed and entertained as Professor Laurent-Perraultt gives us a view of Pan-Africanism through the lens of her unique background and expertise.

Finally, and as always, thanks to each and every one of you for following, liking, sharing, and subscribing to the show. I wouldn't be able to do it without you. Your posts always motivate me to do better. For those of you have not yet subscribed or followed, please consider doing so as soon as you can. It will only take a couple of minutes.

I'll see you on Saturday at 2pm EST, 7pm GMT

Hello Everybody-
With all the Turmoil going on in Nigeria, the USA and all over the world with Black awakening....Pan-Africanism has become a hot topic.

Black people in the diaspora are placing greater pressure on being equal citizens , while African cultures face pressure to adapt to ever-changing technologies and social media.

To help us understand what Pan-Africanism is and what this all means, this week on the Show:

Ellen Dunbar (Liberia) - Founder/CEO, Ms Africa International USA Beauty Pageant.
Stephen Opayemi (Nigeria) - Global Entrepreneur/Capital Investor
Ogugua Iwelu (Nigeria) - Entrepreneur, 'Fela' Broadway.
Ayo Adams (Port Harcourt) - Entrepreneur and US Navy Seal

What a line up! All four of these successful people have extensive experience in doing business in Africa. They understand how to navigate across cultures, languages and traditions. We couldn't have asked for better people to lend their voices to the conversation.

As always, thanks to each and every one of you for your support and please take moment to subscribe, like, and follow the show.

See you on Saturday-

Sav.

Can we add Mbira to this 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾

❤️ Remember the sheer excitement of live music? Of being in the same room with hundreds of strangers, when time freezes, and you have this rare sense of losing yourself? We miss that, a lot.

Exactly a year ago today, we were preparing for one of our most memorable, joyous shows. After a month-long tour, we were back in Manchester, playing at the RNCM - Royal Northern College of Music where many of us studied and met for the first time. It was a real homecoming. We shared in the warmth of Sirocco with our friends, our teachers, and the many other curious people who opened their ears and hearts to us that chilly October night. It felt electrifying.

This was music doing what it does so well – bringing us all together.

Hi everybody!
If you missed today's show with our special guest multi-instrumentalist jazz artist Hasan Bakr, you truly missed a remarkable spiritual journey.
But first I'd like to thank each and every one of you has commented, liked, shared, subscribed, and/or followed the show. You are the very lifeblood of the show. I couldn't do it without you.

But I'd be remiss if I didn't thank Hasan Bakr for coming on the show. His message of love and spirituality, and his virtuosity on multiple instruments, including the mbira was nothing short of flawless.

Finally, I will have some exciting news to share about the show in upcoming weeks as soon as details are finalized.

Now, those of you who have not yet subscribed, followed or liked the show, please take a minute to do so. I promise you you won't regret it.

See you next Saturday on The Savaaffair Show-

Hi Everybody-
As most of you know, we experienced some technical issues during our last broadcast that resulted in an extended delay. We could go prerecorded but we feel it kills the whole idea of the show of connecting direct to Ngwenyambiras in Zimbabwe.

I am incredibly grateful and indebted to our guests Forward Kwenda and Nasibo for their patience.
I am also deeply humbled and thankful for the patrons and supporters of the show who also sent us such wonderful messages of support.

Finally, the show would not have been possible without Albert Chimedza and The Mbira Centre who has been producing the show in Zimbabwe.

Again, thank you all and see you on next Saturday's show.
