VERY slow wind for Sticky syndrome.
This is vintage 1951 3M tape of two different batches. Normally this vintage runs beautifully with no problems. Sometimes it is overly dry and you have to fix all the edits as they fall apart. But what you are seeing here is one of my fears when starting a new project. In combination of a poor batch of tape, bad storage, and too tight packing on its last run years ago, you get a sticky situation where the magnetic side sticks to the mylar back coat on the nexrt layer (you hear this immediately as in this video). Only "solution" that I have found is to bath the tape in lighter fluid, let it soak in from both sides, and then VERY slowly wind back. For most you can see it works and only pulls a little on the edges, but then I got to this section in the middle and a lot of center portion of the tape was lost. One point of luck was that this section of tape was an insert and the surrounding area had wind perfectly. My playback solution will be on a butterfly two channel headstack and then combine the two channels to minimze the loss of signal from the damage.
