I hear this phrase so often...Don't interrupt my peace. I get it. But do we really know what we mean when we say that?
Because honestly, the phrase is starting to feel a little overrated. Or maybe just a little misused. Ooorrrr, maybe it's just me?!
Peace is not a shield. It is not something you wave around to keep people out. If you only demand it and never give it, that is not peace. That is avoidance wearing a nicer outfit.
Real peace goes both ways. Are you giving the same peace to the people around you that you are so loudly protecting for yourself?
I had to ask myself that same question.
For me right now, peace looks like taking the quiet moments I have been given and actually using them, not scrolling through them. Using them to finally do the things I keep telling myself I will get to eventually. Turns out the quietest moments are where the best ideas get cooked up.
To get here, I had to put something down. Fear. The fear that if I am not constantly doing, constantly moving, I am missing out on something.
Turns out you can hear clearly in peace. You can see what you could not see before. You can create in peace that you could never create in chaos.
So take your peace. Just do not use it as a weapon against the people who need you to show up, too.
Are you using peace as a weapon, or are you actually giving it to others? Tell me in the comments. 👇
