I MARRIED MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND — ON OUR WEDDING NIGHT, HE GAVE ME A NOTEBOOK FILLED WITH NOTES IN HIS MOTHER'S HANDWRITING.

After twenty years apart, I never thought I'd run into Michael in our hometown. But there he was, in front of the coffee shop we'd loved as kids, looking almost the same except for a touch of gray. We laughed, caught up, and it was like no time had passed. Soon, we were talking every day, reliving old memories, and somehow, everything just felt right.

After a few months, he proposed, and I couldn't have been happier. Our wedding was simple but beautiful, surrounded by family. Later, we returned to his family home, where we'd spent so many childhood days, and I felt like I was in a dream.

But when I came back to our room, Michael was sitting on the bed with an anxious look on his face, holding a small, worn-out notebook. His eyes had lost their usual warmth, replaced by something almost… haunted.

ALL THE WOMEN IN MY FAMILY SHOWED UP TO MY WEDDING WEARING WHITE — MY BRIDE ELEGANTLY PUT THEM IN THEIR PLACES.

I (M37) come from a large family, mostly made up of aunts, cousins, my mom, stepmom, stepsister, and grandmother. They have a tradition of testing every new woman who joins the family, shattering their confidence before eventually "welcoming" them.

When I introduced my then-girlfriend (now wife), Jen, I made it clear I didn't want them to harass her. Despite that, they went behind my back and roasted her on Facebook. I made them apologize, threatening not to invite anyone, including my mom, unless they did.

At my wedding last week, the women in my family planned to prank Jen by wearing white to see how she'd react. My brother warned me, so I told them they'd be kicked out if anyone wore white, including my mom. They denied everything, but guess what?! They still showed up in WHITE DRESSES, grinning and waiting for Jen's reaction.

My SIL lauged and said, "It's just a test! If she can't handle this, she's not worthy of being part of our family."

When I went to kick them out, I didn't expect Jen to stop me. Instead, she took the mic and said ⬇️

MY MIL MADE ME SLEEP ON THE GARAGE FLOOR AFTER MY HUSBAND DIED — BUT JUST A MONTH LATER SHE BEGGED ME FOR HELP

I trusted my husband completely. He was my rock, my protector. When he asked me to leave my finance career to be a stay-at-home mom, he promised I'd never have to worry. I loved him, so I agreed.

We had twin girls. Then he died.

He was rushing home to us when his car skidded off the road. I couldn't breathe. But the nightmare wasn't over.

After the funeral, I came home to find my mother-in-law waiting. Arms crossed, eyes cold.
