🚤 King County Selects Moose Boats for Hybrid Patrol Vessel 🌿

The King County Sheriff's Office Marine Division has ordered a 46-foot diesel-electric hybrid patrol boat from Moose Boats. The M1 model will be powered by twin Volvo Penta D11-625HP diesel engines combined with Dan Foss electric motors, allowing for up to two hours of electric-only operation at 5 knots.

Hamilton AVX Express joystick controls

Raymarine integrated electronics suite

Corvis Battery technology

Pricing through Government Service Agency contracts

Support from Washington State’s Climate Commitment Act

🚢 Steerprop Propulsion Selected for New Canadian Offshore Support Vessel 🇨🇦

A new 110-meter field support vessel, designed for operations on the Grand Banks off Newfoundland and Labrador, will feature a comprehensive propulsion package from Steerprop. The vessel is expected to enter service in the first half of 2027.

The Steerprop scope includes two azimuth thrusters for main propulsion, two tunnel thrusters, and a retractable thruster, ensuring optimal maneuverability in the challenging conditions of the Grand Banks. Steerprop will also provide condition monitoring services and seal wear monitoring for the shaft seals. Equipment deliveries are scheduled to begin in summer 2025.

Designed to accommodate 164 personnel, the vessel is based on the 995L SBC hull design and will be owned and operated by DOF Group ASA.
