I got roasted on r/interiordecorating 🥲 [UPDATE]

Last week I posted some options for my new bathroom floor tiles, expecting a few people to opine on which option was best.

What I didn’t expect was over 2,500 comments telling me the tiles were an eyesore or the crossposts

However, armed with a thick skin, a no-return policy and the mindset that I’m decorating my home for me, not the next buyer, I kept the tiles and went with option 7.

Not sure if it’s of interest to anyone, but here’s the outcome (Pics show: Rightmove > temporary fix > new bathroom) of my budget reno. As much as I loved the pink bathroom, it was from the 90’s and falling apart. Enjoy… or don’t?

Update on my "too brown" livingroom! Planning on painting the walls and ceiling a dark jungle green. What do you think?

Posted my livingroom a few days ago, asking for advice to tone down the brown a bit.

I added some green and burnt orange accents and will paint the white walls and ceiling a dark jungle green (walls need to be dark since we watch movies on a projector in here, a dark wall will enhance the picture quality loads!)

What do you think? Is it too much green now? It is, isn't it? I always commit to much if I like a color.

Help! Painted whole dining nook too dark when I should’ve stopped at accent wall

Husband and I painted this beautiful green wall and couldn’t decide if we should paint the rest of the dining “nook” or only this one wall. Felt weird with only 1 wall since I wallpapered the adjacent wall so it’s unclean which would be the “accent” wall. Well we painted the other two walls and I think we messed up and it’s too dark. Is getting dark walls back to white really hard? Should I do some sort of white wainscoting on the bottom so it adds some light back in? So sad, the accent wall alone looked great.

Is it too much?

Hey all, I’ve never tried wallpaper before but liked this in theory. Now that it’s up in my small half-bath I’m not so sure. I also wasn’t sure if I wanted to do the entire room and now that I have this section up I feel like it’d be overwhelming. What do you guys think? Too much? Should I use a different wallpaper or take it all down?

Is our living room too much? Someone told me it looks like a child's bedroom.

Still a work in progress, walls will be painted white and art needs to be added. Coffee table will also be replaced with a mirror-look coffee table.

I love it, I think it's super cozy, but I've gotten comments that it feels like a child's bedroom.. Is it too much?
