Y’all might roast me for asking this, but I’ve honestly never seen trucks secured like this before.

I was fueling up at a Love’s yesterday when this rig pulled in next to me, and the way the loads were tied down caught my attention. Instead of chaining normally, he had the boomers hooked straight into the wheel holes.

The front truck’s plastic bumper was actually pressing into the corner of the open chain box doors, like it was pushing against them. Looks like he finished securing it, realized the doors wouldn’t close, and just left them open.

Is this actually standard practice and I’ve just been overcomplicating it this whole time?

I want to put this out there for everyone to see. I took a flatbed load to help out a friend, and when I got eyes on the trailer I found some serious structural damage right by the frame and wheel area—bad cracks and even sections breaking through.

This was close to a complete failure, and it could’ve easily turned into a catastrophic situation on the road. This isn’t something to ignore or ā€œkeep runningā€ like it’s nothing.

At this point it absolutely becomes a safety issue for everyone around it. I’ve already contacted the South Carolina State Patrol about it about an hour ago.

Guy’s hauling a full Volvo 740 on a flatbed with those long ramps still sticking out. It’s definitely not a low-pro setup, and he’s running 22.5 tires on it too.

I asked him where he’s delivering — said Miami, FL.
And guess where I caught him? Westfield, MA.

What do you guys think… how far is this actually making it before it becomes a problem? šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø
