How it’s all began...
Everybody knows that mimicking human brain is not an easy task. Human cortical pyramidal neurons are much powerful and complex compared to, let’s say, rodent neurons. Dendrites — the part of the neuron that receives signals from other nerve cells — are more stuffed in humans, and they receive many more synapses, around 30,000, per cell as compared to ~10,000 in rodents. Memory capacity of human pyramidal neurons four times higher than those of rats.
Figuring out how individual neurons and their components behave and communicate with each other, and which areas of the brain are used for sensory perception, action and cognition took pretty significant time. However, understanding of translation of neural activity into behavior took even more efforts.
In 2019 the fastest supercomputers were able to simulate less than 1% of human brain. The search for the right computer architecture continued.
By 2064 AMD came up with portable superconductive neural processor, that does not require cryogenic temperatures. New processor’s superconductivity kicks in below 2° C.
This is how the first real droids appeared. Before, all computations were done remotely on the servers. Terminal is not computer, remote doll is not the droid.
The very first prototype with own superconductive neural core were created by Italian laboratory led by Dr. Mykola Holyutyak. It was called Robot Lyudina.
