With the can*ab*s industry continuing to grow and thrive, workforce development and its continued implementation are more important than ever to keep the consumers and companies they serve safe and satisfied.

Like any industry, can*ab*s companies must follow specific work codes and policy regulations to operate to industry standards and deliver products to consumers with confidence.

The best way for the industry to thrive is by having a properly trained workforce that feels supported and can offer that same knowledge on can*ab*s and support to consumers.

My favorite room in all of NYC ✨💎🔮

The Allison and Roberto Mignone Hall of Gems and Minerals at the has had me in a chokehold since it opened in 2021. I’ve been back basically once a year ever since, and I could still spend an entire day in there.

It’s 11,000 sq. ft. of pure rock-lover heaven, with 5,000+ specimens from nearly 100 countries. If you identify as even remotely “woo-woo,” prepare to leave this dimension. Personally, I also love wandering around trying to pronounce all the scientific names.

Important edible-at-the-museum logistics: it takes about 30 minutes just to get to the gem hall at a normal pace—and significantly longer when everything along the way suddenly becomes extremely interesting. I always end up getting rushed out at the end, so plan ahead!

In an industry that has been targeted and criminalized, it has become Jupiter Cafe's mission to help those who are marginalized
and looked down upon.

Jupiter Cafe's owner, Living Proof Inc., is a veteran-founded non-profit with nearly two decades of experience in community development, economic justice, education, and entrepreneurship.

Both companies are united in the same mission: giving marginalized communities the tools and opportunities they were denied to build a life for themselves in this economy.

For some artists, the focus of their pieces is all about
being loud and using that noise to make a statement.

As a hard-of-hearing artist, Laurie Shapiro takes a different approach, using her muted experiences to inform & strengthen her artwork.

Laurie's art incorporates different mediums that open the door for people
to go on an inward & spiritual journey.

We were lucky enough to spend time with Laurie as she took us through
the different art forms (painting, sewing, screen printing, sculpting, layering) she uses.

Along with talking about her latest exhibition, "You Don't Need To Hear To Listen", where the focus is on finding strength in quiet & facing oneself to avoid projecting chaos & noise.
