US teacher shot by 6-year-old wins $10M compensation in court

A former teacher in Virginia, USA has been awarded $10 million in damages after she was shot by a 6-year-old student back in 2023.

Abigail Zwerner was shot in her classroom — the bullet went through her hand and into her chest. She filed a lawsuit claiming school officials ignored warnings that the child had brought a gun to school that day.

A jury agreed that the former assistant principal acted with gross negligence, and awarded Zwerner $10M.

US warns: flights will be cut at 40 airports if shutdown continues

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says if the government shutdown doesn’t end by Friday, air travel in America will be reduced — affecting 40 major airports.
