Good morning. About B-Boy and Breakin': Natural form and expresion to explode and be the best, not doing spins and acrobatics. Although that was a part of it, you had to know what you were doing, it was a language of representation and of showing your moves to represent the crew and the people you were with. A lot of people think it's only an art and dance form of self expression but it was more encompassing then that. I was there my brother was a big dancer in breakin' and uprocking, B-boy moves. He was in a group called "United Steppers" it was a great era but also a dangerous one. It wasn't all fun and games it was serious. At the block parties in all the borough mainly from where I am from, Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, then filling in some of the underground clubs. This form of expression was taken seriously. I am proud that it became an olympic sport but it was more than that. I would call all the original uprockers and B-oys dance glatiators because they had to slay and out-perform thier rivals and a lot of it got really heated. So, don't get it twisted peeps, it was a way of life and it still is. Those that know, and those that have dabbled in it don't. As a DJ, before I became a DJ I was a dancer, a lover of music, a witness to many dance scenes back in my day from dancing the 500 with a girl at a house party or doing the hustle in at Roesland to just dancing freely at the LOFT. I am so happy to live that and be a part of the all encompassing movement of dance and music. There were all the elements of life, drama, strife, happiness, family, love and also dfeat and sadness. It was wonderful and it still is as I continue this journey. I am thankful to the music which is the foundation of MY LIFFE.
