What are you paying for shipping for your author copies? I was quoted at just under $2 a book, and that seems unusually high.
I'm excited for my interview this afternoon at 3:30 ET. Thank you Morgan James! MorganJamesBookLaunch.com
Apparently I'm the first winner ever of the SANS Book Club Award! The SANS Institute is an accredited educational institution, and absolutely the 800lb gorilla in education in my space, including government, industry, and people seeking Master's degrees.
What a great couple of days! I enjoyed being a part of all the events with Morgan James Publishing this week in Nashville. Launching my book was a dream come true, and the work has just begun. But there are a lot of people in my corner!
I’m grateful to my fellow authors for their encouragement this week, and for the great speakers that took time to pour into all of the authors. Their efforts will help all of us build our platforms beyond the book. To the entire MJP team, you were all AMAZING. I definitely signed with the right publisher. The author support is unbelievable!!!
Next up, I’m going to be working with local Austin bookstores to get in there for book signings, and I’m even going to try to do some of those in Kansas City as well. Then I’m going to dig into many of the great tips we got during author training to leverage by book for revenue generating opportunities. Whew! Lots to do! 😁
Thanks to everyone for such a great week!
I’m so thankful for my coaches, Jim & Chris Howard. They have been with me every step of the way in writing my first book. I could not have done this without them. They went above and beyond, and I will always be grateful to them for their investment in me!
It's March 10th! That means it is Release Day for my first book, "Cutting Onions: Leadership Lessons Learned From The Restaurant Industry". I cannot believe the release day is here!
I wrote last week that when you create something and you pour your heart and soul into it, there is hope that it resonates and connects with people deeply. That is my sincere hope with this book. I hope people read it and see themselves in my story, because we all have a story. We all have a beginning. We all have obstacles we have to overcome and we should be lifting each other up and cheering each other on.
I am filled with gratitude as I write this post. I am thankful to so many people.
My family, Evan, Jake, Jordan, Joey, Jamisyn, and Jentry for their love and support. They have sacrificed much to get me to this day and I am forever grateful to them.
To Steve Ells and Monty Moran who gave me such an opportunity with Chipotle to impact thousands of lives over the years.
To Matt and Gretchen for their belief in me and investment in my future.
To all of the leaders, hourly employees and staff that I was honored to lead over the years. Thank you. As I say in the acknowledgements in my book, my story is your story. We traveled some amazing places together. Places we couldn't have gone if we didn't have each other.
And where it all started. Art Phillips, thank you to you, Wanda, Sharon and Brenda for taking a 16-year old kid with a stutter under your wings and seeing something in me that I did not see in myself. I could have never known where the road would lead that you set me on.
To Jim and Chris Howard, David L. Hancock and everyone at Morgan James Publishing for believing in me, believing in my story, and giving me the opportunity to tell my story. I am forever grateful for you to for the chance to impact even more people with a book that can travel farther than I can.
I look forward to celebrating this week in Nashville with 18 other stellar authors and the MJP team!!!
Thanks for the support. We are hoping for a nomination in one of the categories.
Podcasts often begin in such a routine way..."Tell us a little bit about yourself and your book"... but sometimes they end up in uncharted territory. Half-way through the Life In Recovery podcast with Ren Koi, I found myself swapping stories with him regarding godly interventions, spiritual awakenings, transformation and miracles in the world of addiction recovery. Two complete strangers, talking from two different continents, with entirely different backgrounds talking as if they had known each other for years. And The Weight of a Feather? In the process my book was introduced to UK listeners.
Happy new year Lynda! The podcast will also be live on I-Tunes by tomorrow x

I was blessed to be the guest speaker at New Horizons Church on Love Life Sunday. Shared my story, listened to others share their stories, prayed together and sold some books to promote life. 🥰
