Big changes are coming to the M Pire!
Effective January 1st, 2017, we will be merging with a new blog and operating under the new name, The Musical Webb. The Musical Webb, founded by musician Ayana Webb (who is also our founder), is a blog series that brings resources to artists and musicians far beyond the scope of the music recording industry. It's also an outlet through which the founder can demonstrate the possibility of making a comfortable living as a musician, by following her own success story! It's our priority to carry out the same mission we always have, which is to help artists build their career, and the merging will allow us to do so in a more effective and expansive way. Here is what to expect under The Musical Webb:
1. Blog instead of quarterly issues: Among many other reasons, publishing via the blog will allow us to share material with you guys on a more real-time frequency, as opposed to waiting three months at a time.
2. The blog will focus much more on bringing artists and musicians the resources and education they need to succeed, and less on featuring artists. We believe it's much better to "teach a man how to fish for life" instead of "giving a man a fish for a day". Plus, the blog will be directing readers to other outlets and blogs who do accept artist submissions and music reviews for free!
3. Expansion of topics: While the original magazine focused mostly on helping recording artists, The Musical Webb will focus on a much wider range of artistry and business marketing, such as those who want to explore a career in music retail, music education (starting their own school or selling online courses), musicianship such as building a full gigging schedule or composing for others, music technology, etc.
4. Introspective education: Here, the founder be sharing her own music tutorials, piano courses, and give you guys first-hand and live access to music conferences, workshops, and summits that she covers.
Next Steps: First, please be sure to follow the new fan page at The Musical Webb.
