Nick Cordero Video Tribute
“One of the Great Ones”
As Featured Tonight During Special Memorial

This evening, Broadway On Demand, the new theater-focused streaming platform, exclusively streamed a celebratory memorial tribute honoring Tony Award nominee Nick Cordero, who recently passed away from COVID-19 complications.
In honor and celebration of Nick’s memory, over 150 of his friends, colleagues, and family from all over the world came together to sing the song that will keep Nick in our hearts forever — “One of the Great Ones” from A Bronx Tale. The resulting video was featured during the streaming of the memorial.

This is great!

“I have been overwhelmed by the compassion, humanity, and unstoppable creativity expressed by our company of 1776 who have come together from across the country for our virtual workshop. Their resilience has infused me with hope for the future of theater amid this time of uncertainty.

As we embark on our journey together on this production, we find ourselves reckoning with our country's history, reexamining the pivotal moment of our nation’s founding portrayed in 1776—the writing of the Declaration of Independence, a ‘promissory note,’ that, in Martin Luther King’s words ‘America has defaulted on.’ Our cast includes multiple representations of gender, race, and ethnicity that allow this revival of 1776 to more broadly reflect today’s America, our America.

As artists, we are embracing our American history as a human predicament and are committed to the process of learning from the past in order to move forward together.” – Diane Paulus, Director of 1776 / Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director #1776Revival

A question: So many of the theaters and restaurants I frequented in "normal" times have been reaching out and asking for donations. I want to give something because the money is being earmarked to support people who've worked at these places but have been let go. But my resources are limited and so I'm trying to figure out does it make more sense to give a little to a lot of places or to hit one with a more meaningful amount: in short, what I'm asking you is should I give, say, $10 to 10 places or $100 to one?
Curious as to why there’s been no coverage or mention of The White Chip which opened last week? It’s a NYT Critics Pick AND got a huge piece in this Sunday’s NYT Arts section. And yes I’m biased as this is my brilliant friend Sean’s play. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/17/theater/sobriety-rehab-plays.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share
#FINALLY! Here it is - a quick sample of 'Finally' from the brand new 10th Anniversary Studio Recording of 'Disenchanted!' The song features a knockout solo (and final riff!) by Lortel Award winner Soara-Joye Ross (Off-Broadway's The Princess Who Kissed The Frog) and fab harmonies sung by Andrea Canny, Becky Gulsvig, Michelle Knight, J. Elaine Marcos, and Jenny Lee Stern! Giving the song a new Motown-like orchestration is uber-talented Tony/Grammy nominee and Exec. Producer Ethan Popp (for 'Motown, The Musical') accompanied by a rockin' band made up on Zach Dietz (Keyboards), Pete Donovan (Bass), and Josh Priest (Drums). Produced by Brad Cerenzia (Circle Gets The Square & Mamches Productions), Co-created by and originally directed Off-Broadway by Fiely Matias, the album was recorded at Spin Recording Studios in the NYC area. Apple-with-darts artwork created/supplied by Broadway's own genius poster artist Frank Fraver. For more info on all involved in the creation of this wonderful album: www.DISALBUM.com or www.officialdisenchantedmusical.com
I am so excited to share this with all of you! The season three premier episode of "On My Way to a B.F.A." features the lovely and talented Cameron Adams! It was such a joy to interview her, and you can listen to our conversation with the link below:
James! I just won the Springsteen lottery for tomorrow night. If you want a ticket let me know ASAP. I don’t live in the city but entered on my friend’s behalf so you’d be going with her and would owe her the $!!!! Do u want it???
This news is so devastating. Poor Ruthie. Prayers for her and family and my friends who know her .
This is a GREAT article guys. I got to see DEH for the first time last Wednesday the 21st. Even having not seen Ben I could tell that something has shifted with the show so I’m glad to read I’m not alone in thinking that! Seeing it a week after the Parkland shooting was indeed a weighty experience. And I may be biased since I know Michael Park but I was SO impressed with him and the way their story seem to have more depth than it seems it did before. Matt or James do either of you plan to see it with Taylor? I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts.
I can’t believe I haven’t heard u guys mention this! Especially James
