NO FORMAL CHARGES!! That is the decision from the Jackson County grand jury, who announced the decision not to issue criminal charges in the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells.
Following the announcement Nolan’s family and attorney Ben Crump held a press conference calling for continued investigation and transparency.

The family continues to question the circumstances surrounding Nolan’s death, including injuries documented in both the state and independent examinations.

After more than 36 hours of deliberations, the jury in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial was unable to reach a unanimous verdict, prompting Judge William Sullivan to declare a mistrial. The case remains unresolved.

The mistrial leaves difficult questions ahead. Prosecutors must now decide whether to pursue a retrial, consider a plea agreement or take another course.

Beyond the courtroom, this case has also brought renewed attention to maternal mental health, postpartum psychosis and the urgent need to recognize and treat severe mental-health conditions during and after pregnancy.
