They built an entire political message around the idea that age and alertness mattered above all else. They insisted the country should be deeply alarmed by even the smallest sign of fatigue.

Make it make sense.
This is the same Republican Party that spent years screaming about strength, stamina, and fitness to serve. They demanded nonstop scrutiny of Biden’s every move. They told the American people that any sign of tiredness was disqualifying.
Now Trump is at the center of a serious international crisis, and the people who made presidential fitness one of their core political arguments have gone totally silent.
That silence tells you everything.
This was never about standards. It was never about consistency. It was never about genuine concern for the presidency. It was always about partisan convenience. When Biden was in office, Republicans weaponized every image they could. With Trump, they look the other way no matter what.
The hypocrisy could not be clearer.
At a moment when the country is dealing with war, instability, and enormous uncertainty, Americans deserve leaders who are fully engaged. They also deserve honesty from the people who spent four years insisting that alertness was one of the most important qualities a president could have.
Republicans told everyone to believe what they were seeing when it was Joe Biden.
