Segura reacts to insane story about cleaning up a hot tub
Sue Perkins spent years as one of Britain's most beloved TV faces - the quick-witted half of the Bake Off tent, trading puns over soggy bottoms with Mel Giedroyc - and never made a spectacle of being a le***an.
She has been open about how disorienting it first was. Falling for a woman in her twenties, while she was with a man, landed so far outside her frame of reference that she described a violent reaction to it - "I just thought, 'I just want to throw up,'" she said - and a feeling like going through a second adolescence.
She turns 57 today. Back in 2013 she summed up her whole attitude to it with a shrug: being gay, she said, was "maybe the 47th most interesting thing" in her life.
Some people spend a life explaining themselves. She'd rather talk about almost anything else.
