BREAKING: Trump Melts Down After Study Exposes His $1.7 Billion Crime Crackdown Flop
Trump erupted in a late night rant after a new analysis confirmed something a lot of people already suspected, his massive National Guard deployments never actually worked.
The Center for American Progress found that Trump's troop deployments in cities like Los Angeles and D.C. cost taxpayers more than 1.7 billion dollars while doing essentially nothing to reduce violent crime. Chandler Hall, the report's author, laid it out plainly during a C-SPAN appearance, explaining that across multiple cities, multiple data sets and multiple time windows, there was no measurable effect on violent crime after the deployments happened.
Trump apparently caught the segment during one of his frequent stretches of what the White House calls "Executive Time," and fired off a 190 word rant on Truth Social. He called the nonpartisan think tank "foolish," accused a long list of major companies and foreign governments of secretly funding it, and threatened to sue both the organization and some of its contributors personally.
What Trump conveniently left out is that Hall's own testimony was more nuanced than his meltdown suggested. Hall acknowledged the deployments did lead to a modest drop in property crimes like theft and vandalism, even while confirming they had zero measurable impact on violent crime, the exact kind of crime Trump has spent over a billion taxpayer dollars claiming to solve.
It's the same pattern once again. Real data challenges Trump's talking points, and instead of addressing it, he throws a public tantrum and threatens lawsuits against anyone who dares point out the numbers.
