On this date in NYC History …. December 2, 1971 John Donald Imus Jr - Don Imus - Imus in the Morning Made his debut at the now defunct #66WNBCRadio where he lasted until August 25, 1977 when station management cleaned house. He returned to NY & WNBC on Monday September 3, 1979 until RCA the parent company of NBC sold its radio division in 1988. He stayed on at Sportsradio WFAN after the sale to Emmis Broadcasting until his firing in April 2007 by CBS Radio which purchased a number of Emmis stations.
Had a dream last night. It was the 1980's in a WNBC conference room. There was a staff meeting with Dale Parsons (across the room) Jim Collins (came face to face with him), Howard Stern (lying on a couch), and many others. Mostly air talent, news staff, couple of people from management. Imus was behind me, mumbling something about me being in his way. I said something about "being happy to be working here". Just weird....
