After a long and beautiful journey, I’m announcing that Curve is coming to an end.It all started in 2007, when I had three cats and had just bought my first apartment. I wanted cat furniture that didn’t look like a big rug tower or a cheap plastic shelf covered in paw prints — but couldn’t find anything that felt like me. I wanted something elegant, functional, and quietly beautiful, something that could blend into my decor without sacrificing my cats’ comfort. Having just earned a Masters in Industrial Design, I decided to solve this problem head-on putting my degree to good use. Curve wasn’t just a product — it was deeply personal. It was made for my cats, in my home. But very quickly, I realized I wasn’t the only one who felt this way. Others craved cat furniture that was both beautiful and discreet. That’s how Curve was born.
This past year, I had to say goodbye to the last of the three original cats who inspired this design — and it feels like the natural moment to say goodbye to the business, too. I’m so proud of what Curve has been: a labor of love, a small design studio, and a piece of my heart. But in the years since Curve launched, cat furniture has evolved beautifully. There are so many more gorgeous, well-designed options now, and I feel deeply grateful to have played a part in that evolution.
