Which animated TMNT version has the best character designs… and why?

In my latest video I compared the following
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987–1996): The original, iconic cartoon known for its lighthearted tone, theme song, and focus on pizza.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003–2010): A more serious, action-oriented series that stayed closer to the original Mirage comic books.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012–2017): A CGI series on Nickelodeon that blended humor with dramatic storylines.
- Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2018–2020): A 2D-animated, stylized series focusing on the turtles unlocking mystical powers.
- Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2024): A series set in the Mutant Mayhem universe.

Do as I say, not as I’ve done 🤭 || Honestly, this recruiting event was definitely the last of its kind. When people ask me about how I broke into the industry I always take into account that things are so digital nowadays that it’s much harder to get that in person time with recruiters. Even at conventions and festivals, they meet so many people it’s hard to stand out even if they mean well.

I still think some of the best things people can do right now is to make micro projects, collaborate with peers, and continue to hone their skills.

When I think about 25/26 year old me that was working many odd jobs and getting A LOT of rejection letters, I smile the most at how she was persistent in getting in front of people and letting her goals and ambitions be known. I’m very grateful to still have that part of her with me 🥰

For years, anime was something I skipped, and assumed that it just “wasn’t for me.” But something shifted recently. I always knew that I didn’t hate anime, I just wasn’t ready yet.

This video series isn’t an anime ranking or a “where to start” list. It’s a real reflection on timing, curiosity, and what happens when you let go of assumptions and finally press play.

I'm so happy to be bringing my livestream webinar from last summer to the public IRL at .

If I have learned anything about indie animation, is that it isn’t just about talent, it’s about planning. In this workshop we'll be talking about real-world workflows, lessons learned, and how to keep a project moving even when resources are tight.

One class trip. One moment. A whole career in animation.

To add more to the story, I spent all of my 20s and then some applying to work at . If I could’ve worked in coat check, that would’ve been enough for me. 😅 I’ll never know why things didn’t align then but I’m so happy to share that this year I purchased my first museum membership EVER and I’m so happy it’s for MOMI.

Looking forward to all of the programming this year has to offer and to be spending some lazy days there as well.

Anyways, full video on YouTube where I go into the defining moment that made me say “yea, I wanna do this when I grow up.”
