This week is the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
In the early morning hours of June 6th, 1944, Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, the largest amphibian landing in history. Thousands of young men fought hard to establish beachheads from where the liberation of France and ultimately Europe began.
In our VR documentary, Omaha Beach, you can listen to three WWII veterans talking about what they went through that day. For them "It was always yesterday."
This D-Day documentary was our first film and collaboration for the World War II Foundation, led by Tim Gray, who has produced more than 30 documentaries on the topic. Their mission is to keep history alive, following the stories of veterans and what they experienced during the war. 360/VR allows the WW2 Foundation to expand into new media.
Three veterans share their personal stories from D-Day when they were young, inexperienced soldiers and sailors heading for Omaha Beach. Follow the stories of Hal Baumgarten, Richard Fazzio and Don McCarthy. The young, inexperienced soldiers and sailors were part of
