Very good article. The move to improve the VA, if they do this at every VA. Maybe, maybe, the VA has a chance.
Strong stance, no excuses, approach is key. Seems to many VA employees do not understand what really happens when they do something, they know will effect the veteran's.
We must all remember that military service, is a deadly occupation and young men and women are prepared for war and are fighting all over the world.
Way to many VA employees believe that in order for veteran's to deserve service connected disability, only veteran's who were hurt in combat deserve treatment.
I believe they think of the military as a big game and no one gets hurt. These employees don't understand what type of training veteran's and active duty military go through.
Many are serious hurt while training and those veteran's deserve the same respect and treatment. Too many become judge's and will judge the veteran's and if the employees feel those veteran's don't deserve treatment, they will do whatever is necessary to cause the veteran's problems.
They speak of VA hospitals, better be checking their outpatient clinics in rural areas. Nepotism is running rapid, hiring friend's and relatives.
That's never good for the veteran's. These type of employees will cover up any and all wrongdoing.
