Update: neglected horses
Just a follow up to the post I made yesterday. Just because these ponies are fat and glossy doesn't mean they're healthy :( seems like the gelding is feeling good today though, so that's something!

Sorry this is a garbage quality video. I don't have a ton of horse experience and I don't really know how to move her along in a circle without a lead rope

Feeling good after a trim
Repost with the actual video. A little while ago I made a post that blew up about a bad trim. I got a new farrier and my horses are doing awesome! The palomino has navicular and this is the most sound and energetic I’ve seen him in forever, even with the mud lol. The gray one was the trim pic I posted, and she’s also doing really good. She had seedy toe that’s been dx and is finally almost cleared up.

Long lasting mild colic?
We are unfortunately on day 3 of colic. We seem to be down to just gastric upset at this point. Has anyone else dealt with a mild colic that comes and goes? He’s only appearing uncomfortable and being slow to p**p, no other symptoms. Both the emergency vet and my regular vet who he’s seen over the last two days say there isn’t much else to do other than wait and watch since it’s so mild. He finally started p**ping without a trailer ride. He is beyond sick of having 0 food though. Except 2 nights ago when he somehow broke out of his stall and ate himself sick AGAIN on hay. Doesn’t seem to be super interested in drinking but he’s had two tubings done in the last two days, first one for dehydration second one so he didn’t become dehydrated again. We’ve been bribing him to drink with unsweetened applesauce as he goes nuts for it. Giving bantamine, electrolytes, and probiotics every 12 hours. He keeps going back to normal and being ok and then looking sick again albeit very mild, good solid gut sounds since yesterday. Vet said no mineral oil and to keep walking to a minimum as those are both outdated. Is there any thing else I can do to try and get the gut moving? I keep threatening to squeeze him like a tube of toothpaste if he doesn’t hurry up and p**p more.

🐎What do y’all think of Black Forest horses?
Apologize for my lack of forest drawing skills, as a question to equestrians about the breed in general, are they good beginner horses? I know they are probably more expensive than some other breeds because of there rarity, but that is one of the reasons I’m thinking about getting one, because they are rare and I want to support the breeds recovery, what’s your experience with Black Forest horses? Pros and cons, are they a comfortable ride? What are the quirks? Does the breed have traits you don’t find desirable in your horses? Feel free to let me know your thoughts! 😁🐎

First driving show!!!
Stella had her first driving show this weekend and this little girl took a GRAND and a RESERVE GRAND!!! In a nice country driving class. Couldn’t be more proud of this little girl!!! She gave it all and then some. 💕 we went to this show without any expectations. Just wanted a good relaxed first driving show. And she knocked it out of the park!

BLM Brand?
Bought a group of Jenny’s off Craigslist. Is this an old BLM brand? Not sure if the info I was given about the group is exactly correct (not blaming the seller as he was honest - he was just relaying the info given to him by whomever he bought them from). They’re very flighty and uncatchable (was told they’ve only ever been used as livestock guardians) so no way I’m able to clip it anytime soon.

She’s the one of the right in the last photo. The red halter was supposed to be the 8yr old (maybe I misunderstood the seller 😅) but obviously wouldn’t be possible if the dark nosed Jenny is branded? Middle Jenny in last photo looks the youngest but she also has extremely faded salebarn sticker stuck to her butt?

Only info I was given:

A Jenny (8yr old) with her two daughters (2yr old & 3yr old). They came as part of a package deal with a flock of sheep that the seller bought in Ohio.
