Five weeks after ESPN fired Ryan Clark live on air during NFL Live on Monday, July 20, 2026, Starbucks billionaire Howard Schultz reached out and put money behind his comeback.

Ryan Clark revealed that Schultz sent him a lengthy text saying he had done a deep dive on him and wanted to be part of what came next. Howard Schultz then backed The Pivot 25, Ryan Clark's new show.

"He believes in the things that I stand for, which I hadn't heard from somebody of his stature who didn't look like me," Clark said.

Ryan Clark has been open about believing his firing was orchestrated rather than a routine layoff.

He said executives used Disney's wider round of cuts as cover after making a decision to remove him for standing up for the Black community, he was earning over $2 million a year at ESPN and had won a Sports Emmy Award.

The comeback has been swift as Netflix signed a multi-year deal with The Pivot podcast on Friday, August 31, 2026, and Howard Schultz's backing of The Pivot 25 adds another major investor to Clark's post-ESPN chapter.

Morning meditation from Miami ...I have a message for some Black men who are ready to hear it . The other day, after visiting the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, and seeing the thousands of FOI Members in their shiny skin and shiny uniforms ..
i was especially inspired by the young men and teenagers and how they glowed Later that day I rode through the hood in Chicago with my brother Wali.

I saw despair on the faces of our men. It wasn’t a new scene, but something in me saw it differently. It made me ask myself: Have I lived nearly 70 years and still not served enough? I saw brothers who seemed to have so little opportunity, so little reason to believe things could change.

Without the words I had just heard from the Minister, I’m not sure I would have known what to say. This morning, in meditation, this came to me: We’ve got to go to work. I can’t reach every Black man at once.

But if I reach a few of you and help you take a step toward a better life, maybe I’ve done something that pleases God.

My brothers, I encourage you to visit a Nation of Islam mosque. Listen. Consider joining. Begin the work of putting your life in order, strengthening your family, and serving your community.

At the heart of that work is personal transformation—mental, physical, spiritual and yes economic transformation as well . I believe in the discipline, brotherhood, and sense of purpose the Nation offers.

And I believe that when you take a step toward God and put in the work, God meets you in that effort. This is what was on my heart after meditation this morning. This is what I believe. And I pray that some of you will accept the call. Question HOWS MY BOW TIE ❤️

Carville claims Trump ‘wants to torture’ GOP ahead of midterms

Democratic strategist James Carville speculated Tuesday that President Trump wants his party to lose the midterms.

“The only answer that I can come up [with] that explains the current behavior of Donald Trump is simply this: He wants the Republicans to lose. He hates them. He wants to torture them,” Carville told journalist Al Hunt on their “Politics War Room” podcast.

He thinks that he saved them, he taught them how to win, [they] turned [their] back on him and he’s going to teach them a lesson,” the veteran strategist added.

Republicans are trying to keep control of their slim margins in the Senate and House this November, while Democrats are seeking control of Congress for the final two years of Trump’s term.

If the GOP maintains its majorities in both chambers, it will mark the first time the incumbent president’s party has done so since Republicans kept the Senate and House in 2002, during former President George W. Bush’s first term.

Genelle Guzman-McMillan was the final survivor pulled from the ruins of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001, after enduring a staggering 27 hours trapped beneath the collapsed North Tower.

When the building began to give way, Genelle and several co-workers started to evacuate from the 64th floor. They had only reached the 13th-floor staircase when the tower collapsed around them. In an instant, concrete, steel, and dust swallowed the stairwell, plunging Genelle into total darkness.

“The dust and the sound and everything came crashing down,” she later recalled. “I fell to the ground and waited for the impact to stop. Then there was this deathly silence.”

Pinned under debris with one hand free and no sense of time, Genelle prayed and tried to stay conscious. Hours passed. Her legs were crushed, her head was trapped, and she could barely breathe. At one point, convinced she would not survive, she closed her eyes and prepared herself for the worst. But every time she drifted off, she felt her breath catch, reminding her she was still alive.

Late in the morning of September 12, a faint noise — boots on rubble — reached her through the dust. Summoning the last of her strength, she managed to move her hand slightly. A rescuer spotted it.

“I’ve got you,” he told her — words she says she will never forget.
Firefighters and recovery workers spent hours cutting through twisted metal to free her. Genelle emerged dehydrated, severely injured, and barely conscious, but alive. She spent almost three months in the hospital recovering, undergoing surgeries and extensive rehabilitation.

Genelle later became a symbol of hope for many — not only because she survived when thousands around her did not, but because of her unwavering determination to live. She has since spoken openly about her experience, her faith, and the long process of healing, becoming one of the most powerful living testimonies from that day. Twenty-seven hours under the rubble — and she refused to give up.

A military veteran has spent the last four decades in a maximum-security prison for stealing just $9, serving a sentence of life without parole.

In 1982, the then-25-year-old stole a wallet containing $9 while under the influence of substances he became dependent on during his overseas military service. Because he already had three prior convictions, strict habitual offender laws automatically triggered a mandatory life sentence with no possibility of release.

He has never denied taking the money, calling it a desperate mistake driven by addiction. He has not received a single visitor since his sister passed away in 2006. Despite spending the majority of his life in one of the harshest prison environments, he continues to study for his GED and remains focused on self-improvement, serving as a heartbreaking example of the devastating toll mandatory sentencing laws can take on a single human life.
