Loved getting to chat with this icon on even more icons!

Ali Stroker Ali Stroker , the 2026 Reelabilities Spotlight Award recipient and I chatted on one of the best original shows to have hit Broadway in almost a decade Hadestown, is now screening for a limited time only at select theaters around the US!

She was recognized at the ReelAbilities New York 🎥 Opening Night ceremony, this April for her groundbreaking contributions to disability representation on stage, screen, and beyond!

We’re going to ride that train, way down, as “Hadestown: The Movie” hits select US movie theatres July 24, 2026.

At the Tribeca world premiere, we had a moment to speak with the man behind Hades, himself. Tony nominee Patrick Page Patrick Page [AppleTV’s “Spirited”, “The Gilded Age”, “Spiderman: Turner Off the Dark”] spoke about how he was initially drawn to the project, as it began with inclusion and how we’ll ultimately see him perform thru a physical change to the way his character is portrayed for the screen.

Filmmakers made it possible for Page to participate in the filming, as he recovered from an injury that took place shortly before the filmmaking process began!

Inclusion means creating access, “and we’re gonna sing it again!”

Lachi’s version of her Disability Reality?
Simply put, “It’s the mask”

On top of all that, she has a new single out called “MOVES,” on her children’s music SPIN, an inclusive (and long overdue) version of *Head, shoulders, knees and toes* that will soon be your new favorite all time fave version of a classic hit:

“I could walk around with one leg, one arm and that’s cool too”

Thank you for always making us all feel so seen, queen!

Her new book “I Identify as Blind” is out now, too. Lachi’s episode of Disability Reality Podcast is now streaming, wherever you get your Pods.

Full “mini-sode” from our coverage of “Rain Reign,” now streaming on YouTube, Substack and wherever you listen to your streaming(s)✨

In this clip we chat with actors Paul Rudd, Jeremy Jeremy Sisto & Director Erika Burke Rossa on the red carpet of their Tribeca film premiere!

Based on the popular children’s novel, “Rain Reign” recently premiered on the red carpet, at the 2026 Tribeca Festival. Disability Reality has just the inside-scoop on authentic casting, you’re looking for!

When I tell you that we truly put sweat, blood and tears into the hardest hitting coverage … I guess that’s the disability-reality behind our day of coverage, full stop!

Here’s just a clip of an inside look at our day—in 90 degree F heat & direct sunlight—hustling for an interview with one of my (now) favorite book adaptations, of all time!

We chat with actors: Paul Rudd, Jeremy Sisto and lead actress Felice Kakaletris along with director Erika Burke Rossa. Special shout out and thanks to my red carpet assist by Pamela Rae Schuller Pamela Rae Schuller * (who maybe might have been just as famous as the actors in the film, she was recognized so much—Couldn’t love this for her more!)

This is easily some of Jeremy Sisto & production’s best work. Not to mention the purest intention, in director Erika Burke Rossa’s framing of the story, which I think helped me fall in love with the storytelling, even more …yes, even beyond the puddle of cathartic-tears I was left in, upon viewing the film— in & of itself!

So often, from a reading perspective of a narrative, we truly understand how a character sees themself, from their perception & point of view, in the world around them. I’m so appreciative of the collaborative approach the production made to telling the truths at the root of some often difficult material.

Authentically cast, “Rain Reign” truly makes our list of Disability Reality’s “Certified Hot-Tea” recommendation!

The extended interview with Jeremy Sisto is currently posted for paid Substack subscribers, Available for ALL on Youtube, Saturday June 13.

FULL INTERVIEW TW: Story spoilers and sensitive material, ahead… definitely well-worth the inside-look!

Team USA’s audiences have been calling attention to the fact that they are currently struggling to find the Paralympic-level coverage from the broadcasting networks covering the games.

A major contrast to that of the Olympic games, only a few short weeks ago—from the jump of the Paralympics opening ceremony’s live broadcast, physically being buried on the app.

However, while it is a criticism for the network, it should be noted that the anchors and journalists covering the events are beyond well-equipped to be on the job. Many of them, including Lacey Henderson who are former and/or retired Paralympians as on-air representation.

There is still so much work to be done from having additional commentators, further funding and to calling out the network for not hiring disabled-entertainers who AREN’T athletes, as boots on the ground representation. Think à la Snoop Dogg, who attends at a rumored $500k/a day pay rate.

In case the search is on, future disabled entertainers that we suggest for coverage include:
Melanie Waldman (“QVC”)
Marissa Bode (“Wicked”)
Lauren Lolo Spencer (“The S*x Lives of College Girls”),
Jillian Ilana Curwin (“Always Looking Up” Podcast)
Jillian Mercado (“Dying for S*x”)
Santina Muha (“Freakier Friday”)
Steve Way (“Ramy”)

Our time is now, pretty please, do better!

What are your thoughts?? Tag your favorite paralympian and make some noise for the games and its representation!

It was everything we expected & more, seeing Marissa Bode, on the red carpet of the NYC premiere at Lincoln Center— just like coming”home”

Here’s just a taste of what our interview entailed, chatting about Marissa originated the “oldie but goodie” magical song, (named after: character-“spoiler”) from the Broadway show, that’s officially been recorded for the film. One of a handful of new songs recorded for the first time EVER, just for the release of “Wicked: For Good” album

Stay tuned for more of Wicked with Marissa, myself and our fantastic collaborator “Always Looking Up Podcast”. thank you NBCUniversal for inviting us
