NYC’s most iconic food spots—worth it or tourist traps? I hit Katz’s Delicatessen, Russ & Daughters, Joe’s Pizza, Mei Lai Wah, Faicco’s Italian Specialties, and The Donut Pub to see what’s actually worth your money. Some live up to the hype… others don’t.

This is the world’s oldest sausage restaurant — open since 1419 and still grilling the old-school way.

At Zum Gulden Stern in Nuremberg, Germany, the sausages are small, smoky, and cooked over a beechwood fire, just like they’ve been doing for over 600 years.

Simple, historic, and ridiculously good.

This might be the most unique bagel experience in New York. At Rockland Bakery, you can walk right onto the factory floor, grab hot bagels straight off the conveyor belt, and fill your own bag while surrounded by endless racks of freshly baked bread. And somehow, a fresh bagel is only 93 cents.

I went to the world’s most famous butcher shop… and it basically became a meat pilgrimage. Deep in the hills of Tuscany, Dario Cecchini runs Officina della Bistecca like a steakhouse rock concert — eight courses, flowing w**e, and massive cuts carved straight off the fire for 50 euros. Still one of the most unforgettable bucket-list meals I’ve ever had.

New York’s first Dominican-Texas BBQ 🔥 Bark Barbecue brings together Texas-style smoking with Dominican flavors, from cafecito beef ribs and brisket to guava-glazed pork ribs and loaded tostones. This might be the best barbecue I’ve had in NYC.

Trying the most famous pancakes in New York at Golden Diner. 🥞 The honey butter pancakes are thick, fluffy, buttery, finished with lemon zest, and honestly might be the best pancakes I’ve had in NYC.

Trying America’s first Michelin-recommended Bolivian restaurant 🇧🇴

Bolivian Llama Party in Queens hand-rolls up to 240 salteñas every day, plus dishes like silpancho, brisket mac and queso, and their Pork Chola sandwich.

Easily one of the best South American meals I’ve had this year. Get here before they earn that Michelin star.
