OUR STORY

Sierra Productions, Inc. was opened in 1993 in New Orleans on the world famous Canal Street and in 2012 relocated to New York City! We opened because there was a strong need to have a business that offered Urban Advertising strategies that didn’t hit the pocket book so hard like the large ad agencies with all their unnecessary fees. So we cut out the middle man (Ad Agencies) and created a full service Advertising and Production house that serviced not only the local NOLA market but sought to service the entire nation. After all the Urban Dollar was being spent so the big question was how to get companies to see the need to customize their advertising to become more inclusive?

There was a lot left on the table back in the day from traditional advertisers who might not have known the power of the Urban dollar. We prepared strategies to reach the Urban consumer thru custom designed TV and Radio Spots as well as print and outdoor campaigns. that included people of color. Before long, Sierra became the leader in delivering the Urban audience to national & local advertisers like Burger King, BP, McDonald's, Johnson & Johnson, City of New Orleans, Attorney Chip Forstall, Bishop Paul & Debra Morton and so many others.

Hurricane Katrina was no joke and due to the complete devastation the city experienced, not to mention the fact that every person working at Sierra Productions during that time lost everything they owned we decided to move the operation to Atlanta, GA temporarily until we could re-define how to continue doing business having lost over 60% of our clientele. While in Atlanta a great opportunity opened up to do business in both New York as well, so we quickly began moving up the East Coast. In 2012 we moved our entire operation to New York to dive into the idea of TV programming as well as gain access to more national and international clients.

Now that we are based in New York City just blocks away from the world famous Times Square and the Empire State Bldg we decided that the time had come for the natural progression of a business to take place especially since we had been around since 1993. So we added to its list of services TV Programming and Social Media Advertising. The world kept changing so we needed to do the same. While still providing effective ad campaigns, we Co-produced our first TV show called “ART ATTACK”. Simultaneously the CEO and Founder Monalisa Johnson went from behind the camera to in front of the camera to be seen on a NATIONAL TV SHOW on A&E called “60 DAYS IN”. Needless to say the doors began to swing wide open for this self made woman and her company.
