After nearly two decades, Music Hall of Williamsburg will close its doors at the end of 2026. Since opening in 2007, the venue has been a launchpad for artists like Mumford & Sons, Tame Impala, St. Vincent, Ed Sheeran, Tyler, The Creator, The Weeknd, Phoebe Bridgers, and countless others.

Bowery Presents co-owners Jim Glancy and John Moore said the lease at 66 North 6th Street won’t be renewed, but shows will continue through next year. “Music Hall of Williamsburg arrived at a time when the North Brooklyn neighborhood was having a cultural awakening, and we were among the first music clubs to open in the neighborhood and establish tenure, Jim Glacy and John Moore, the venue’s co-owners,” said in a press statement.

On an album where everything is falling apart, “DIOR LEOPARD” is the moment Che actually lets go, overstimulated by external pressure and internal sentiment. After spending most of REST IN BASS cocky and assured, the 19-year-old’s darker angels are catching up, fast. “Right now, I’m on E, about, eight times a week!” he excitedly chirps. His flow is possessed, spiraling through a manic phase over fuzzed out 808s. He’s arguing with girlfriend K3 again; his mom just kicked him out the house; he oscillates between having his haters knocked off and his own plans to “go 27 club, kill myself, Cobain.”

It’s been a looong year for everyone — including Lorde. At her sold out Brooklyn show last night, joined by 2hollis as an opener, the pop star gave a heartfelt speech reflecting on her “beautiful and challenging” 2025, and shared wise words for the upcoming year. “Don’t be afraid to fall the f*ck apart. Let yourself feel everything. Swim naked, have crazy s*x, do drugs, dance, do it all ... stay alive.”

New York-based trio Scotch Mist has been carving out its own lane in the city’s indie scene, refusing to be boxed in by genre expectations. What started as a studio project between vocalist Ed Zighelboim and his brother has evolved into a 3-piece outfit that blurs the lines between indie rock, disco, soul, and electronica. With a sound built on a foundation of indie rock, it’s their diverse inspirations—from Brazilian pop to yacht rock—that add more texture with each release.

As they continue to release new singles, the group is thinking intently about how digital platforms like BandLab and ReverbNation can be part of their next move. “90% of it has to be how you share, we just want to think how we can get this music to people’s ears in the best way possible,” Ed explained. “As artists, we just have to be more flexible and more willing to kind of explore whatever avenue is presented in front of us.
