Free Your Mind Films

Free Your Mind Films The official page for FYM Films, a group of young independent filmmakers in New York who work on an Our range will be abundant.

FREE YOUR MIND FILMS will always go deeper into the psyche of a person. We're not going to make everything plain and obvious, but every subtext and thematic element will burst through like the sun. In some stories the easy answer will be hinted at to the point where all you need to do is grab it, but in other stories there will be no easy answer. We WILL NOT simply make family dramas, or dialogue driven films, or abstract films, or comedies, or horror movies, , or action, or just sci-fi. We WILL MAKE ALL OF THEM, BECAUSE WE LOVE MOVIES, because there is NO LIMIT to what we can do, what we can see, and WHAT WE CAN SHOW AND TELL. If you're working with me I only ask for one thing and that is to believe in this statement and to BELIEVE IN ME, because even if you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel then you need not worry, because I DO. Examining the darkness in people is my natural desire when I make a movie. Not just darkness in the evil people but also darkness in the good people dedicated to stopping them. It’s the “Batman” fan in me I guess, and I got to play in that sandbox with “The Angel of Death”!

Being a writer/director is great, but I love directing other writers’ scripts. A lot of my personal favorites of mine like “Violets at Twilight”, “What If”, “Overcome” and “Friday and Friday” were written by other people. I learned so much about myself as a director making those movies, and I can’t wait until I’m trusted with another person’s words again.
