Leaders, experts, activists and other influential voices from all sectors of society are coming together at the UN Climate Conference in Belém, , to turn climate ambition into .

With temperatures at record highs, emissions still rising, and extreme weather events intensifying — causing increasing suffering, displacement, hunger and loss of life — COP30 comes at a critical moment.

The gathering offers a crucial opportunity to reignite global momentum and shape a future that is resilient, low-carbon, affordable and fair for all.

We’re inspired by and supporting this campaign from .project, which begins today!

At , we’re amplifying this vision and seeking ways to engage - because stories of migration, adaptation and justice must shape our collective future.

Today, we’re launching ‘Building Home + Future’ — a campaign that honors the climate solutions born from migration and shows what a thriving, diverse future can look like.

For decades, frontline communities have grown innovations rooted in the immigrant experience. These solutions make us all stronger. In the face of climate-fueled storms, fires, and displacement, people who’ve had to relocate bring hope, skills, creativity, and courage. They show us how to build shared homes grounded in abundance and care — not scarcity and fear.

is a fossil-fueled s**t show. There are *thousands* of fossil fuel lobbyists at the climate negotiation. The president of the COP is an oil and gas CEO who denies the scientific imperative to phase out fossil fuels, and the UAE is using its platform as event host to make oil deals on the side.

Meanwhile, latest science is that global carbon emissions in 2023 were the highest EVER — aka net-net we are moving in the wrong direction‼️

There’s lots of other stuff happening at the COP in Dubai too. Grateful for the presence and powerful moral clarity of Sec. Gen. , , () (), , , and many more advocating for climate justice. (Yes, you should follow them all.)

Grateful for reporting from Bill McKibben, .world, , , and others shining a light on it all.

Despite how deeply flawed these negotiations are, they are our best vehicle for international agreement. AND they reveal the critical importance for local action. We cannot depend on politicians to do the right thing — we must persist in our insisting, and actively advance climate solutions in our communities.

This UN process wildly imperfect AND it matters that we get it as right as possible. We must act as if we love the future.
