He lifted the wallet clean out of the man’s jacket pocket — then looked down and saw a woman on the floor with a cardboard sign.
Instead of running, he walked around to the front, flagged the man down, and handed the wallet back like he’d just found it. The man was so relieved he pulled out a bill on the spot as a thank-you. The guy in the hoodie took it, walked straight to the woman on the floor, and gave it to her. The man in the suit stood there with his arms out, not sure what he’d just witnessed.
He stole nothing. He just redirected the transaction.

The hot dog hit the pavement, the line outside was long, and the woman holding a baby in a sling looked like she was about to fall apart.
The customer didn’t ask for a refund. He walked inside, tied on a checkered apron, pulled on gloves, and took over the grill. Sausages, ketchup, fries — he worked through the whole queue while she stood beside him and smiled for the first time all day.
Some people see a problem. He saw a grill that needed someone at it.

The soldier came down the steps, saw her bump, and his jaw dropped — until she pulled a pin from her hair and the whole thing vanished with a pop. He grabbed his head in disbelief while she walked away laughing. Then she came back pushing a double stroller with their son and daughter inside.
Some homecomings need a punchline before the tears.
