I paid a basement leak company $2,500 to install a French drain. They cut out sections of the basement floor, installed the drain, and repoured the concrete afterward.

The issue is that the patched concrete doesn't seem flush with the original floor. There are noticeable height differences, and one area looks rough enough that it makes me question how much effort went into the finish work.

Crap job, or am I being too picky?

We had a new concrete pad poured today, including an extension about 22 inches into the garage, all done in one continuous pour.

Most of it looks fine to me, but this edge where the new concrete meets the existing slab has me scratching my head. There are spots that look rough, chipped, and uneven, and I honestly don't know if that's normal finishing work or something that should have been done cleaner.

Nothing will ruin your day faster than spotting a crack in brand-new concrete. 😭

This dark patio was looking incredible—the color, the finish, everything. Then out of nowhere, it decides to split and steal the spotlight.

Trying not to panic. Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Hoping it's a fixable issue and not the start of a bigger problem.
