One word only. What feeling comes to mind when you look at these images?

For me, it is a reminder that beauty does not always need to be polished or perfect to hold our attention.

I love knowing that so many of you seem to notice those same quiet details. Every message, and shared appreciation for something old and storied makes this little corner feel less like something I am creating alone and more like a place we are slowly shaping together.

It is what has inspired me to build a space for these pieces to belong, shaped slowly by the objects that have found their way into my hands and stayed with me.

I have always been drawn to objects that feel found rather than finished. Pieces with no need to be precious or perfect, only interesting enough to make me stop and look a little closer.

Perhaps that is why this little world continues to grow so slowly. I would rather wait for something that makes me feel something than gather simply for the sake of having more.

Does looking at these photos make you feel as though you have wandered into a little world where old things are allowed to remain imperfect, familiar, and full of story?

That is the feeling I am always hoping to create here. A place shaped slowly by the pieces that catch my eye, the ones that feel as though they have already lived a life somewhere else and somehow still have another chapter waiting for them.

Nothing is meant to match perfectly. Nothing is gathered simply to fill a space. It is the chipped Quimper, the faded little birds, the forgotten objects and the traces of age that make this world feel personal to me.

If we’re being completely honest, is there something about a gift from France that makes it feel just a little more special?

Or is it simply that the French have a way of making even the most ordinary things feel as though they were meant to be kept?

For me, it’s that feeling I wanted to capture with these rustic handmade soaps. Inspired by the traditional Savon de Marseille recipe and the quiet simplicity of French provincial life, each bar is made by hand in small batches, then wrapped individually in old-world papers that make no two feel quite the same.

And because I’ve always believed presentation is part of the gift itself, a handful are now tucked into vintage French chocolate boxes and biscuit tins, each one collected individually — cherished keepsakes that are meant to be used long after the last bar of soap is gone.

Perhaps that’s what makes a gift feel a little French after all.

Something useful, something beautiful, and something worth keeping.

Have you ever walked into someone's home and immediately felt a sense of calm, as though everything inside had been gathered slowly and allowed to find its place?

I have always believed our interiors can be restorative. Not because they are perfect, but because of the things we choose to surround ourselves with. Objects with history. Pieces that have been held onto. Small remnants of another life that somehow make our own spaces feel more personal, more comforting, and perhaps a little more beautiful.

Maybe that is what I love most about vintage. We are not simply bringing an old object home. We are giving its story somewhere new to continue.

These cloisonné beauties that I found while wandering through a Parisian flea market are on their way to begin a new story. As excited as I am for their new owner, I can't help but feel a little sad to see them go.

For those of us who have long been drawn to vintage Quimper, have you also felt that these pieces seem less like décor and more like something meant to be kept and cherished for years?

There is something deeply sentimental about vintage French faience. Beautifully hand painted, thoughtfully chosen, and often kept for decades, these are the kinds of pieces that slowly become heirlooms without ever intending to.
