Jesse Louis Jackson (ne Burns; October 8, 1941 – February 17, 2026), American civil rights activist, politician, Baptist minister, protégé of the great Martin Luther King Jr. during the American civil rights movement, one of the most prominent civil rights leaders of the late 20th and early 21st centuries...thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you, Jesse Jackson, for your exemplary  lifetime of service, setting the bar and  paving the way for so, so many. “My constituency is the desperate, the damned, the disinherited, the disrespected, and the despised. They are restless and seek relief.” 1984 Democratic National Convention in San Francisco. A life respected and loved, and though challenged by some, well lived. You believed in your dreams. We all must. Humbled and inspired by you. 🙏🏾🖤
