Timbertech deck issues My GC built a deck for me and it has not even been a year. I chose Timbertech Legacy boards just because those seemed to have been the best choice for maintenance and durability. I live in coastal New England. That said, just about late fall I started noticing issues with screws and this spring, most of these had mushroom effect. Moreover, I notice lots of scratches. I Have no idea where these come from. Plus, some boards on stars have swelled up. What is the matter here? My GC says its freeze thaw cycle, but this is composite? What gives? In addition, every time the dog goes outside, it leaves stains from paws which are impossible to get rid of with just a mop. Timbertech CS says I have to use bristled brush. This is more maintenance than I wanted. In addition, the boards are starting to loose color.... Initially it was beautiful mocha, now I have no idea.. its dull. What is happening? I have decided to replace the boards with the mushroom effect but will it solve the problem going forward? How do I prevent these scratches going forward? I do look at folks with composite decking when I walk the dog and I do not see any such issues...but maybe they use different material ../
