In San Diego, more of that paycheck gets eaten by housing and state taxes. In San Antonio, lower home costs and no state income tax give that same income a lot more room to breathe.

Before Delta Force became a household name, the U.S. Army had Blue Light. 🇺🇸

Formed in the late 1970s under the 5th Special Forces Group, Blue Light served as an interim counterterrorism capability during the same period Delta Force was being established.

The surprise here isn’t the $100,000 salary - it’s what’s left after everyday costs start taking their share.

Ohio comes out with the cheaper housing picture in this comparison: lower median home value, lower rent, and slightly lower monthly ownership costs.

Michigan tells a different story. Housing runs a bit higher, but its homeownership rate is stronger, meaning more households own rather than rent.

So this isn’t simply “which state is cheaper?”

Ohio may give your paycheck more breathing room.
Michigan may appeal more if long-term homeownership matters to you.
