Before smartphones told you what was happening… the morning newspaper did. 📰🇺🇸
Imagine waking up in America in 1987.
There were no notifications waiting on your phone. No social media feed. No group chats. No internet browser sitting in your pocket.
The morning could begin with a newspaper on the kitchen table, breakfast with the family, a landline phone on the wall, and the simple routine of getting ready for the day.
For many families, everyday life moved at a completely different pace. You didn't instantly photograph every moment. You didn't search for an answer in seconds. And if you wanted to talk to someone, you picked up the phone—or simply went to see them.
Sometimes the most interesting part of history isn't a famous event.
It's the ordinary life people once considered completely normal.
👇 If you grew up in the 80s, what was the first thing your family did every morning?
