In training dogs, using a prong collar can often be a controversial subject, but in my practice when I show people who are unfamiliar with them what they look like and exactly how they feel and then also teach them a proper fit and use of the prong collar, I often change minds. It doesn’t mean that the tool will be used for the entire life of the dog once they are trained you can back off and go to a flat collar because the dog knows how to not pull. But I think the most important thing to take away from this post is that when it comes to dog training it isn’t one size fits all. One must be willing to adjust for different breeds and different dog temperaments. My goal is to improve the life of a dog and their owner..
