🚨 Newark—WE WANT ANSWERS 🚨

Last week, 25‑year‑old, (Dylan Goodin) was shot by Newark police and remains hospitalized as his family struggles to find answers. The incident occurred early Friday morning near the YMCA, on Church Street.

According to reports, officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle, believed to have fled a neighboring community just two days prior. It’s said the man had a handgun and did not comply when asked to put it down. He was taken to a hospital and is now recovering—but the community is demanding clarity.

MUSKINGUM COUNTY- Murder Plot: Six Guilty in Vigilante Betrayal

Six people have now pleaded guilty in a violent attempted murder case out of Muskingum County — and together they’re staring down as much as 83 years behind bars.

Lovely Warden, the ringleader, admitted to plotting the attack and driving the plan. She was hit with more than 20 years and must register as a violent offender.

Kayla Hargraves, who drove the car during the shooting, taking 15 to 19 years for her role.

Jamie Jarrett, the vehicle’s owner, was tied directly to the conspiracy and got 5 years.

Adam Johnson, a passenger, landed 3 years on burglary and assault charges.

Christopher Johnson, who helped cover it up, dodged a long sentence but still faces 90 days locked up plus community control and service hours.

Jackson Clapper, accused of supplying the gun, hasn’t been sentenced yet.

Prosecutors say the case unfolded like a vigilante-style hit, planned and carried out step by step. The judge separated the group into tiers — with Warden and Hargraves branded as the most dangerous players — but all were held accountable for their roles.

What began as a conspiracy to kill one man has now ended with nearly a century of prison time hanging over Muskingum County’s latest headline case.

POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING — NEWARK

Newark Division of Police:

Incident Date: Friday, August 15, 2025

Location: Parking lot near YMCA daycare, 470 W. Church Street, Newark, OH

At approximately 07:15 hours, two Newark officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle/person call in the lot next to the YMCA daycare. On arrival, the unit immediately identified the vehicle as the same one that had fled from a neighboring jurisdiction during an incident on 08/13/25.

The vehicle was occupied by a single male subject. Officers made approach and observed the subject holding a handgun. Multiple clear verbal commands were issued for the subject to drop the weapon and show his hands. The subject did not comply. Based on the subject’s movements, one officer discharged his duty weapon.

Backup units were on scene within seconds. The subject was secured and officers began immediate first aid until medics from Newark Division of Fire and Newark Township Fire arrived. Subject was transported to a Columbus-area hospital. Condition at time of transport: unknown.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) was notified and responded with their critical incident team. Licking County Prosecutor’s Office was also advised. BCI has assumed lead investigative authority. Their findings will be reviewed by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and forwarded to the Licking County Prosecutor for review.

Involved Newark officers have been placed on critical incident leave per policy.

🚨 Boating Accident on Buckeye Lake Sends Two to Hospital 🚁

Late last night, a boating accident near Cranberry Bog on Buckeye Lake left two people seriously injured after what witnesses say appeared to be a high-speed tubing collision just outside the no-wake zone.

Initial reports suggest two individuals were riding on a tube when they either collided with another boat or struck each other, possibly head-to-head. One of the victims sustained a severe head injury and was airlifted by helicopter to Grant Medical Center along with the second injured rider.

The other boat, operated by a 27-year-old from Reynoldsburg and a 23-year-old from Columbus, was not physically injured in the incident, though both vessels were towed back to shore as part of the investigation.

This accident is a powerful reminder of how quickly fun on the water can turn serious. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families as they recover.

🎥 Footage captured nearby shows emergency response teams in action at the scene.
🛟 Please stay safe on the water and always follow speed, distance, and wake-zone guidelines.

🚨 COMMUNITY QUESTION: POLICE PRESENCE VS. SMALL BUSINESS 🚨

A business owner at Freddie’s Inn Sports Bar & Grill in St. Louisville says two cruisers sat in their lot from 10:52 PM to 11:55 PM Saturday night — lights flashing the entire time — after a traffic stop for expired tags.

The bar reportedly emptied out, and several customers turned around due to the scene. The owner says this cost them money and is asking:

“Would they be okay if I took money from them? I support police, but common sense goes a long way.”

Here’s the video the owner recorded, showing the cruisers with lights on the whole time. 🎥

We’re asking the community:

🔹 Should police consider the impact on small businesses during prolonged traffic stops in restaurant/bar lots?

🔹 Is this acceptable practice in a small town where alcohol is served?

Let us know what you think — respectfully — in the comments.

🚨 Public Safety Alert 🚨 STAY IN THE KNOW!

We’ve received credible information that vehicle theft suspects operating in our region may be shifting their attention from city neighborhoods to rural areas, including parts of Newark and surrounding Licking County.

Just last week, several rural zones were hit—including locations within the outer areas of Newark itself. These thieves often target unlocked vehicles or ones with spare keys left inside.

Let this serve as a reminder:

🔒 Lock your vehicles
🔑 Do NOT leave keys or fobs inside
📸 Consider cameras or motion lights if you’re in a rural location
👀 Report suspicious activity immediately

Newark isn’t exempt—if you live on the outskirts or in a more secluded spot, you’re just as much at risk as those in town.

Let’s keep each other informed and protected.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY —

🚨 From Petting Zoo to Prison: Fairfield County Manager Sentenced for Child S*x Crimes 🐐⛓️

What was supposed to be a wholesome day with farm animals turned into a disturbing twist no one saw coming.

A 23-year-old manager at a Fairfield County petting zoo has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after admitting to gross s*xual imposition involving a child under the age of 13. He was arrested back in April after investigators with the sheriff’s office uncovered the abuse.

He’s now labeled a Tier II s*x offender, meaning he’ll be on the radar for the next 25 years — checking in with law enforcement every six months.

This wasn’t just some dumb mistake or teenage nonsense. This was calculated, disgusting, and targeted at a child. The community deserves better from places we trust with our families.

👉 Let this be a wake-up call: predators don’t wear scary masks — sometimes they wear name tags and manage pony rides
