If you’ve been putting off autopay, you now have until December 31 to sign up and lock in that 1% rate cut through June 2028.

If your SAVE deadline looks different than it did before, you’re not imagining it. The Department hasn’t explained the changes, so go by whatever date your servicer portal shows. If you see a date in 2028, it’s only a placeholder and it will change.

The groups calling for hearings are pointing to the same stuff so many of you have been dealing with: wrong payment amounts, false past-due notices, and lost PSLF credit. There’s been no response from Congress yet.

On PSLF, the Department says the months it’s taking back were credited in error. Either way, screenshot your s**t and keep your records up to date.

If you’re in default, you can now apply to rehabilitate or consolidate online. Garnishment is paused for now, but it’s expected to come back, don’t play with these people.

And the Senate bill wouldn’t wipe out the debt. It would also have to pass Congress first.

Fixes are still pending on most of this.

I’ve been seeing a lot of misinformation about the September 29 SAVE deadline, and it has a lot of borrowers panicking.

Your SAVE deadline depends on when your servicer sent your notice. You have 90 days from that date to choose a new repayment plan. The first group of notices went out July 1, which is where September 29 comes from. The rest will go out by December 31, so your date could be weeks or months away.

I posted a table a few posts back that shows your deadline to switch based on when you received your notice.

If your deadline passes and you haven’t chosen a plan, you’ll be placed on the standard plan automatically. If you apply for a new plan and your servicer doesn’t process it in time, you’ll get a 60-day processing forbearance while it’s reviewed.

I paid off $50,000 in credit card debt across 15 credit cards. 💳

I used to think credit cards were the problem, until I realized it was my relationship with credit that needed to change.

The stack I’m running today isn’t about earning points for the sake of it. Every card has a specific job: building wealth, covering real expenses, or maximizing what I already spend. Nothing sits in my wallet without a reason.

That shift, from surviving debt to using credit intentionally, didn’t happen overnight. It took a plan and working it.

If you’re still figuring out where you stand or what your own plan should look like, DM “CREDIT” and I’ll help you get there.

I’ll say it again because it needs repeating: we are in a STUDENT DEBT CRISIS.

Total U.S. student loan debt is approximately $1.87 trillion.
TRILLION. With a T.

And yet the loudest voices online aren’t asking how we got to $1.87 trillion. They’re asking why you didn’t fully understand loan terms at 17, before you could rent a car or legally vote, under a system that was never built to be simple.

The Iran war cost taxpayers an estimated $113.3 billion in just over three months.

For a war most Americans didn’t ask for and can’t explain the endgame of.

But sure. Let’s keep asking 17 year olds to justify their student loans instead.

Nobody’s demanding receipts on that math. Nobody’s asking the people who approved it to explain themselves the way they demand explanations from you.

The math is not mathing and you’re the one getting blamed for it. It’s giving, “talking points I heard on Fox News”.

I got my student loans forgiven. I’ll show you how to navigate yours.

Comment HELP and let’s get you a plan out of this bulls**t.

Student loan scams are on the rise, and scammers are counting on the confusion around policy changes to make their pitch sound legit.

Here’s how to protect yourself:

🔒 Never give out your FSA ID. That’s your login, and handing it over is like giving someone the keys to your account.

🔒 Skip anything that asks for payment upfront. Every legitimate program, IDR, forgiveness, consolidation, is free through StudentAid.gov or your servicer directly.

🔒 Go straight to the source. If you get a call, text, or DM about your loans, don’t respond. Log into StudentAid.gov or call your servicer using the number on your account.

🔒 Slow down when something feels urgent. Real programs don’t disappear overnight, and a countdown clock is a pressure tactic, not a policy.

Comment HELP and I’ll show you to what legitimate help actually looks like.

Don’t take the first private student loan offer you get.

Interest rates, terms, and hardship options vary by lender, sometimes by a lot. Shopping around before you sign can save you real money.

I talked private student loan dos and don’ts with USA Today.

The attack on public servants and the determination to cause student loan borrowers undue harm continues.

Interesting how they had the time to discover these coding errors but can’t calculate monthly payments accurately or process IDR and PSLF backlogged applications but whatever.

Go screenshot your s**t.

Not the highlight reel. The boring stuff that’s actually doing the work.
