This real estate broker-homeschool mama’s heart was elated that this month’s spotlight was on Frank Lloyd Wright. 🏠

Sooo many of our homeschool lessons integrate music, like this song by Simon & Garfunkel. To be honest, I didn’t know about this one until I searched for background music for this post. When I found it, Jasper (who is SIX) said “I remember those are the people who sing ‘The Sounds of Silence’!”

Comment/guess where the Trifecta is on this roadschooling adventure. Homeschooling can look different depending on what your goals are. We value experiences, making memories, learning about many cultures, and seeking different perspectives and stories than what is typical, “mainstream” and/or propagated by history stealers. Whenever possible, we find ways to add music into the mix; today in Erykah Badu’s hometown.

Getting geared up for his second year of Cub Scouts. This uniform can stay with him through the rest of his scouting years (or possibly while impersonating a ranger 🤔) so I got pants two sizes “too big” and a shirt one size “too big” fully realizing that he might just grow into them before summer. Thankfully they adjust in the waist and are made to let the hem out over time.

👸🏽being greeted when she awakens. This is why I wanted a big brother when I was her age. 🥰 … Well, this and that I wanted someone else to have to mow the lawn and take out the trash.😂

The costume bin being in her closet results in (who needs to wait for Halloween) outfits like this on random Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays … you get the point.

As year-round eclectic homeschoolers, one school year blends into the next and “curriculum” may be completed in any month.

Nevertheless, when I can catch all 3 kids looking at the camera (not making faces) at the same time, it warrants a post. 🤓🤩😎📸

Here’s to the first-ish day of school. 2 pix from today where we started the day off with “recess” and were pleasantly surprised to meet two other homeschool families at the park with kids in their same age ranges. They too enjoy being able to use the playground equipment early in the morning without the crowds and summer heat.

Bonus pic from the first-ish day of school 2 weeks ago (the day their online classes for ‘22-23 began) when their cousin was with us, telling them how lucky they are to be able to go to the bathroom whenever they want and to have their mom as their teacher and to be able to play dress up in the middle of the “school day”.

I bought a few basics 👚🩳 and they insisted on putting on a fashion show 🤩 mixing items they already owned with the new items to coordinate with each other. 😍

Celebrating my Alma mater 👩🏽‍🎓 on 🥊💙🐓
I teach my kids (the “trifecta”) to appreciate the trifecta of beauty, brains and brawn as they pursue their passions. If that leads them to college, great. If that leads them to do good in the world without going to college, great.
