We are saddened today to hear of the passing of the legendary Jimmy Cliff. A true giant of our culture, a voice that carried the spirit, struggle, and soul of our people across the world.

Wewill never forget his iconic performance on TEMPO’s launch night in 2005 in Oracabessa, James Bond Beach Jamaica. His presence, his energy, his message shaped that moment and helped set the tone for everything TEMPO has stood for over the past 20 years. It was an honor to have him bless our beginning.

Thank you, Jimmy, for the gifts you gave us. Your music lives forever and your impact is stamped on the Caribbean story for all time.

This was the program that introduced TEMPO to the world. A bold, unapologetic declaration that Caribbean people have shaped global culture in music, politics, sports and pure unstoppable vibes.
