Shenseea Breaks Records: “Shake It to the Max” Surpasses Nicki Minaj

With her hit “Shake It to the Max (Fly)”, Jamaican artist Shenseea has claimed the second-longest charting single among Caribbean women, overtaking Nicki Minaj’s mark.  

The song has not only dominated regional charts — it also broke into the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at #91 and climbing as high as #47.  

For Shenseea, this is more than numbers. It’s a symbol — a demonstration that a Caribbean woman can not only compete on the global stage but lead it.

Both superstars share deep Caribbean roots — Nicki Minaj hails from Trinidad and Tobago, while Cardi B is of Dominican and Trinidadian descent. Their shared heritage has added another layer to the conflict, as fans from across the Caribbean weigh in, claiming pride in their respective icons. Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny is taking the biggest stage in football.

The musician, who recently wrapped a residency in Puerto Rico, was announced as the Super Bowl LX halftime show performer on Sunday.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history,” Bad Bunny said in an NFL statement announcing the halftime show.
