Do not download McMinnville city files from leak sites.

Sources say stolen city data, including encryption keys, is circulating on hidden sites.

Some people are using onion browsers to grab it.
That does not make it legal.

Possessing or using stolen government keys can violate federal computer crime law. Cities have already sued people who downloaded leaked municipal files from the dark web.

An onion browser hides your IP from the leak site. It does not hide you from a later investigation, a device search, or a lawsuit.

If you think your info may be in a breach, wait for official city notice. Freeze your credit.

Do not collect the files yourself.

Leave them alone.

🔥 Celebrating 130 Years of Service 🔥

Today, the Yamhill Fire Protection District proudly celebrated its 130th anniversary—an incredible milestone built upon generations of courage, commitment, and service to our community.

Past and present volunteers came together to reconnect, share memories, and enjoy a barbecue in recognition of the people who have helped shape our district throughout its long history. It was wonderful to see generations of volunteers gathered in one place, united by their shared dedication to protecting and serving the Yamhill community.

Several current volunteers were recognized for reaching important years-of-service milestones. Among them was Chris Featherston, who was honored for an outstanding 30 years of service to the district.

A very special recognition was presented to Bob Landauer, who has devoted an extraordinary 50 years of service to the Yamhill Fire Protection District. Five decades of volunteer service is a remarkable achievement and a powerful example of loyalty, leadership, and commitment to one’s community.

We are deeply grateful to Chris, Bob, and every past and present volunteer who has answered the call over the past 130 years. The Yamhill Fire Protection District’s history was built by individuals willing to give their time, skills, and hearts in service to others—and that tradition continues today.

Please join us in congratulating all those recognized and in thanking the generations of volunteers who have made 130 years of service possible! 🚒❤️

September 14 Update to the City of McMinnville ransomware attack and the city data landing on the dark web.

BREAKING: City of McMinnville Data Appears on Dark Web Following August Ransomware Attack

The City of McMinnville was targeted in a ransomware attack in August, and data believed to have been taken from city systems has now appeared on the Tor network.

Yamhill County News has reviewed information associated with the release. The material appears to include a significant volume of City of McMinnville records, including files connected to city desktops, email accounts, elected officials, executive session materials, and McMinnville Police Department records. Some of the police-related material appears to include casework and law enforcement records spanning multiple years.

At this time, Yamhill County News has not located a public statement from the City detailing the full scope of the information that may have been compromised or released.

Yamhill County News contacted the City of McMinnville on Saturday seeking information about what steps the City has taken following the August ransomware attack to protect data that may have been compromised. A response has not yet been received.

Yamhill County News has also contacted the FBI seeking comment regarding the attack, the apparent release of McMinnville Police Department information, and information provided to Yamhill County News regarding the City's cooperation with federal investigators. No response has been received as of publication.

Both inquiries were sent over the weekend, responses may not be received until Monday.

Some of the exposed material may contain sensitive or personally identifiable information, so Yamhill County News will not publish the leaked files or provide information directing readers to them.

This is a developing story. Yamhill County News will update this report as additional information is verified and responses are received from the City of McMinnville or federal authorities.

After completing additional investigative steps today, McMinnville PD personnel have concluded the investigation of this incident. The conclusion is that there is nothing criminal involved in this incident.

Re: Death Investigation 1200 block SW Darci Drive, McMinnville (26MP2553)

On the morning of September 8th, 2026, McMinnville Police were dispatched to a call of an unresponsive 12-year-old child at a residence in the 1200 block of SW Darci Drive, McMinnville, Oregon. Lifesaving efforts were attempted to no avail. Detectives with the Yamhill County Major Crime Response Team initiated an investigation. This investigation is ongoing.

McMinnville community safety is a primary goal of the McMinnville Police Department. Consequently, we understand this type of incident is far reaching in its affects within a community. That said, this is an isolated incident to the victims connected to this incident at this time. No additional information is available for release at this time.
